Some dishes aren’t even created for the first time until the day of. One of my favorite hurdles is realizing the morning of, that a key ingredient was never purchased at the grocery. But why? Some dishes are prepared and frozen weeks ahead of time, others are rushed day of. And yet somehow we make it work, or attempt to make it work, year after year after year. As my immediate family and friends have begun new chapters with additional family and in-laws in locations across the state, the past few years have brought more and more scheduling conflicts.
